Welcome to my mind.
It is the year 2004 and has anyone noticed we have boarded a time machine? With all our technology and the computer age at hand, why are we going backwards?
I am a thirtysomething woman ( I think that makes me a generation x'er, correct me if I'm wrong)and I can't believe the controversy surrounding nudity, nipplegate and the word sh*t.I consider myself a modest person , but come on! In a world where terrorism is a topic at the dinner table, and child abductions are an everyday occurance, I wonder at the rush to censor glimpses of normalacy.
In the movie 'The people vs. Larry Flynnt' there is a scene where the title charactor is showing a slideshow of images , some of the naked female form and others of war and death. He then poses the question of which images are more offensive? Being a woman who by no means is an advocate for porn, it still gave me pause. Are we all walking around with blinders on when it comes to the REAL important issues at hand? Or, are we pulling the shades down hoping it will all just go away? I don't know , but perhaps if we remove the sticks up some peoples....Just a thought ~ CJ
